Who is it aimed at?

Design and Technology teachers and technicians in schools,


What are the objectives?

To support Design and Technology teachers and technicians in schools to effectively access and manage the risks associated with the use of woodworking and metalworking equipment and associated activities by staff and pupils.


The training is delivered in two day and one day block spread over two weeks and comprises of a number of both theory and practical modules. Successful assessments will lead to the development of a personal portfolio that once completed will result in accreditation with DATA that lasts for five years.


How will it make a difference?

Provide attendees with the knowledge to develop and maintain effective management arrangements to safely manage woodworking and metal working activities in schools.


This will also assist the school to comply with its requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
