Who is it aimed at?

Head teachers and others who have responsibility for managing health, safety and wellbeing in schools and have previously attended an IOSH Managing Safely course

What are the objectives?

This course will provide head teachers and others with an opportunity to build on the knowledge and skills developed on their IOSH Managing Safely course and to improve the health and safety culture and risk management arrangements in their schools

 

Key areas covered during the four days include

 

·         Understanding your health & safety roles and responsibilities

·         Providing effective health and safety leadership

·         Developing a positive safety culture

·         An update on relevant health and safety legislation

·         Identifying and managing key health and safety risks in your area of responsibility

 

The course is evaluated by means of a multiple choice examination comprising of a mixture of short and multiple choice questions.

How will it make a difference?

Attendance will help head teachers and others to provide effective leadership in health & safety and to also develop and maintain a positive health and safety culture in their schools. This will have the effect of reducing accidents, injuries and ill health to staff and others reduce the likelihood of criminal prosecutions and reduce the likelihood and consequences of civil claims.
