What's New In CPD

An Evaluation of the 2007-08 CPD Programme for Schools

 The report, which can be accessed by clicking on the link below, gives a picture of the CPD activities that took place in Carmarthenshire during 2007-08 from a number of perspectives. It includes:

• A national view from Estyn;
• A regional view from swamwac, and most importantly,
• Teacher and school based staff development co-ordinator evaluations of the programme

The report also indicates how all of the above have influenced planning and preparation for the 2009-10 Better Schools Fund Programme. Aspects of the report and plans for the 2009-10 CPD programme will be further discussed during the round of meetings with CPD coordinators scheduled for the last week of January 2009

An evaluation of the 2008-09 CPD programme will be made available in the Autumn of 2009

Planning the 2008-09 CPD Programme

An outline of the 2008-2009 CPD programme for schools is now available on Amdro in THEMES AND STRATEGIES II. Carmarthenshire’s current CPD strategy focuses on the overarching themes of transition, teaching and learning and assessment. Plans for the 2008-09 programme continue to build on these three themes and focus on bringing different partners together in order to achieve an informed change and improvement. The document also provides an evaluation of the 2005-06 CPD programme.
