Welsh Heritage Competition
Years 4 and 6 classes were entered into The Welsh Heritage Committee annual competition last term. The pupils had completed a project on saving Cwrt Farm in Pembrey. Cwrt Farm is a magnificent, ancient manor house with an interesting history which featured on the BBC TV ‘Restoration’ programme.
The pupils focused on the building’s history and learnt why it was such an important building to the village of Pembrey. Art work was completed, letters were written and a pageant was performed and shown on television.
As a result of the hard work completed by the classes and Mr Conway a £300 prize was awarded in a ceremony in Cardiff. The prize was donated by The National Trust. 40 schools competed in the primary section and Pembrey Community School were positioned 11th. Well done pupils and Mr Conway.
