Our School

Swiss Valley is a community primary school which caters for pupils between the ages of three and eleven years. It was built in 1969 and is set in an open, elevated ground in the centre of Swiss Valley Park Estate, and enjoys panoramic views of the Burry Estuary and town of Llanelli.

There are currently 263 pupils on roll (Spring Term 2007) and these children are educated in ten classes. Four of these classes are currently housed in temporary accommodation but a three class extension is planned for 2007. Numbers have remained constant over the last five years. The school follows the guidlines issued by Carmarthen County Council with new chidren being admitted at the beginning of the term that they celebrate their fourth birthday (three times a year at the beginning of each academic term). The school is popular and becomes oversubscribed during the Summer Term. This year projected figures suggest that pupil numbers will rise to over 285 during the Summer Term.
