In 2008, the Welsh Assembly Government Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills published the Skills Framework for 3 to 19-year-olds in Wales. The framework provides guidance on how to develop continuity and progression across the curriculum and between key stages in the skills of thinking, communication, information and communication technology (ICT) and number. The section for developing number aims to help teachers improve pupils’ numeracy skills across all subject areas.
